Upon arrival to Kyiv, time to settle down in your comfortable hotel. After some time to recover from your journey, we will take you on a small tour through Kyiv, so you can learn the ropes; where to exchange your money and to do your shopping. In the evening, time for a delicious dinner in one of the many restaurants in Kyiv.
Your first impression of Kyiv is bound to be a surprise. Nowadays, Kyiv is not just a city of Golden Domes, exciting and historical museums and memorials. Firstly, we will take you to the heart of the Kyiv, and its main artery (or the main street of the city): The Khreshchatyk, and Independence Square, now better known as Maidan. Did you know that Khreshchatyk Street is the widest, yet shortest main street in the world? It’s just 1.2km long but exceptionally broad! This street was destroyed in the Second World War, but now is the focal point of Ukraine’s capital city. Next, step back in time through the Golden Gates (or Zoloti Vorota), back into the 11th century when these gates once protected the Capital of the ancient Kyivan Rus… One of our guides will be there every step of the way.
Don’t miss out on a trip down Andrijvesky Uzviz – the winding street that’s home to the city’s artisans, craftsmen and vendors – where you can see and buy a variety of souvenirs and gifts, that will always remind you of your journey to Ukraine! Then time for an evening full of flavour and culture to give you a real taste of Ukraine.
Today you have the chance to visit one of the largest Christian holy places in the country – the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra – a world famous historical and architectural landmark. The monastery’s gold-domed churches are a real feast for the eyes: the Scythian gold could even rival that of the Hermitage! Wander down into the underground labyrinths filled with ancient mummified monks – intriguing to say the least! Following that, we will visit the Museum of Folk Culture and Ethnography of Ivan Honchar, which consists of approximately 15 thousand ethnographic and artistic items! Learn some more about Ukrainian history, culture and heritage.
That evening, a Night train will take us further on our journey, to the picturesque Odesa.

Welcome to the beautiful Odesa, city of sunshine and the glistening sea. ‘Mother Odesa’ is how the local people lovingly call their beautiful home city… Odesa is a city of contrasts – shabby, yet grand, it is decadent and modern, confusing yet energetic, but you will not fail to be delighted by its authentic charm. After settling into the hotel, located in the heart of the city, we will take you for a walk round the centre. Visit the famous Potemkin Stairs, stroll through the popular Derbasovska Street, and breath in the fresh sea air on the promenade. After dinner, we plan to visit the stunning Odesa Opera House, one of the most beautiful theatres in Europe. Its façade is decorated in the Italian baroque style, while the main large hall is richly adorned with gilded stucco figures, modelled after the style of Louis XVI.
Today is for your own individual exploration of breath-taking Odesa. Odesa is a spectacular mix of sandy broad beaches, leafy old streets, a comfortable Mediterranean climate, and of course, the marvellous locals themselves. Take some time to soak up the culture of this unique city – maybe wander through the vibrant and colorful markets, which sell everything from homemade food and fresh fruit, to old and new fridges, animals big and small, and, of course (if you fancy a really big souvenir!), Soviet Ladas.
For those who enjoy delicious wines, today is your lucky day! Today, the small town of Shabo will open its doors to us… Shabo is home to its own winery and wine factory, where we will take a tour of the winery, and even try some of their fabulous products. Shabo’s wine is famous around the world for its quality and exceptional taste. If you like it enough, you can even purchase some to take a taste of Odesa home!
In the morning, while we still have some time in the city, we will take you on excursion dedicated to the architectural heritage of Odesa. You will learn and experience how multinational Odesa is!
After, our adventure continues as we hop on the train and travel to the capital of Bukovyna – Chernitvsi.

Chernivtsi is currently twinned with seven other cities around the world. The city is also considered one of Ukraine’s most important educational and architectural sites.
Arriving in Chernivtsi – we’ll get you settled in to your central hotel, then take some time to enjoy the inspiring atmosphere of this city, by strolling through the narrow, historic streets. After lunch, time to head to one of the largest historical places in Chernivtsi – the Chernivtsi University! This Hogwarts-like collection of buildings was the residence of the Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans, and is even on the UNESCO World Heritage List! The rest of the day is yours for further exploration.
Today, we’ll take a trip through history and go back in time…. Not literally, of course, but you’ll get to see how the local princes and rulers lived – visit the fortress in Khotyn and the ancient town Kamianets Podilskyy.
After, the local folk ensemble, called “Holos” or “Voice” will entertain you with joyful show, then a fabulous dinner of local Ukrainian cuisine.
What is waiting for us today? A fascinating tour to the local open-air Ethnographic Museum! This fabulous museum gives you the opportunity to see illustrative examples of folk architecture, not just from Bukovina, but from all regions of Ukraine! After, time to continue our journey up into the Carpathian Mountains.

You’ll then go on to learn how traditional local wool blankets, “lizhnyky”, are made, and the craftsmen will reveal the secrets behind the different designs and methods.
Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure to relax. We recommend a visit to the ancient wooden church nearby, and the museum of Hutsul citizenship.
Today, we will keep on exploring the beautiful region of Hutsulshchyna and all that it has to offer. On our way to our Next Stop, Lviv, we’ll stop in the city of Kolomyia and visit the famous Pysanka (Ukrainian Decorated Egg) museum to admire the best works of this fascinating art!
Arriving in Lviv, we’ll get you checked in, and take you out for a walk around this medieval town. To end the day – we’ll enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many local restaurants.

Naturally, all the tourist attractions of Lviv are centrally located, but this doesn’t mean there aren’t things to explore beyond this realm! We’ll take you on another adventure, to visit the famous Lychakiv cemetery – one of the oldest existing communal cemeteries in the whole Europe, the old-new train station, incredible cathedrals and more.
